Hints and tips about Jaybins' Jigsaws

All the jigsaws can be "saved" to the hard drive so you can play them over and over again.
Once played they can be saved part finished, so you can come back another time and continue playing.
When re-opened you will have the option to continue playing where you left off or restart from scratch.

All the jigsaws have been made from my own and a friend's original personal pictures
There are no known virus infections or spyware problems
When you click on the download links
you may
get a warning that the download may be infected!
Take my word for it, they are safe.

Save? or Run?

If you choose the "Run" option the jigsaw program will dowload onto temporary memory for you to play.
When you want to end the jigsaw you may be prompted to "Save"
This option is meant for you to save a data file along side the jigsaw program on the hard drive
be aware that because you are playing from temporary memory,
it will not save anything!

Please note

Once the download finishes the computer has to assemble the program
so be patient, it takes a few moments with nothing apparently happening.

If you choose the "SAVE" option you will be asked "Where to save" the file to
Make sure you know where you have saved the file on your hard drive.
If possible make a new folder within your "My Documents" folder and call it "Jigsaws" and save the jigsaws there.
Once the downloading is finished, navigate to that folder and double click on the jigsaw file and it will open.
Once you've Clicked on the Play button you can
maximise the jigsaw window so it fills the screen
At the top of the screen you will have options to help cheat (if you get stuck).
You can make all the pieces rotate the right way up, or,
you can find the next part of your jigsaw.
You can get the "Box Cover Picture" in the background by clicking on the "ghost icon "
and there is even an option to get the jigsaw to pull itself all together
When you save the jigsaws to your hard drive you get the option to save partly finished games
so you can open them some time later and assemble more pieces

F.A.Q.

Q. There are some pieces missing, where are they?

A. It is possible to loose sight of pieces that go under the jigsaw as you are playing,
if this happens, right click on the connected pieces and right click, select the option to"send to the back"
You should then see your hidden pieces as they "come to the front".

Q. The jigsaw is so big I don't have room on the screen to see what I'm doing.

A.You have several "trays" at your disposal that are very useful to put pieces to one side,
either straight pieces or part assembled pieces and you can hide/shrink the trays to give you more room.
When you need them just click on the tray then either
drag the pices onto the play area or right click in the tray and select "Drop all pices"

Q. How do I make a jigsaw folder in "My Documents"?

A. On your "Desk top" (Screen) you should have an icon
(a small image with words) called "My Documents"
Double click the icon and you should see a list of folders on your screen.
Momentarily Right Click (not left) near (not in or on) the list and
a small boxed list should appear near your mouse pointer.
In that list should be an option called "New" select the word "New" and
you will get more options, choose/click the one that says "Folder".
A new folder is now made for you called "New Folder"
If the name "New Folder" is coloured and has a flashing cursor
just type the name "My jigsaws" on the keyboard
If the name "New Folder" is just plain with no flashing cursor
Right click on the "New Folder" and select "Rename"
on
the list that appears
and type "My jigsaws" on the keyboard
You now have your jigsaw folder ready to download you jigsaws.
